Privacy Policy
App: Whoseum · Effective: August 21, 2026 · Last updated: August 21, 2026
1. Information we collect
We collect a limited amount of information to operate and improve Whoseum:
Usage and diagnostic data
To keep the App reliable and to understand how it's used, we collect usage and diagnostic information such as feature interactions, session activity, performance metrics, crash logs, and general device information (for example, device model, operating system version, and app version). This data is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
Advertising data
If you consent to personalized advertising, our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may collect information such as your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), IP address, and general interaction data in order to serve and measure ads. If you do not consent, we ask AdMob to serve only non-personalized ads where available. See Advertising & AdMob below.
Information you send us
If you contact us for support, we collect the information you choose to provide — such as your email address and the contents of your message — so we can respond.
Server communication
Whoseum connects to servers operated by or for SillyDino Software LLC to deliver the App's features. As part of normal operation, our servers may automatically log technical information such as IP address, request timestamps, and app/device version for reliability, security, and abuse prevention.
We do not ask for your name, contacts, precise location, or payment card details, and we do not sell your personal information.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain Whoseum's features
- To diagnose problems, fix bugs, and improve performance and stability
- To understand how the App is used so we can make it better
- To display advertising, and — with your consent — personalized advertising
- To respond to your support requests
- To protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats, and to comply with legal obligations
3. Advertising & AdMob
Whoseum may display advertising provided by Google AdMob. Depending on your choices, AdMob may collect and process data — including device identifiers (such as the IDFA), IP address, and ad interaction data — to serve, personalize, cap, and measure ads, and to detect fraud.
On Apple devices, Whoseum uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. You will be asked for permission before any tracking for personalized advertising takes place. You can decline, and you can change your decision at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you decline, AdMob will serve non-personalized ads where available; you may still see ads, but they will not be based on tracking.
Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's own policies. To learn more or to manage your ad settings, see:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
- Google AdMob & data
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited situations:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf (for example, hosting, analytics, and advertising partners such as Google AdMob), under agreements that limit how they may use it.
- Legal and safety reasons — when we believe disclosure is required by law, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or SillyDino Software LLC.
- Business transfers — if SillyDino Software LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Third-party services
Whoseum relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob (advertising) — policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple (App Store distribution and, where enabled, crash and usage analytics) — apple.com/legal/privacy
6. Data retention
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — to operate the App, meet legal and security obligations, and resolve disputes. Diagnostic and usage data is generally retained in aggregated or de-identified form. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You may also request deletion as described below.
7. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption of data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. You can:
- Control advertising tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and reset your advertising identifier in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- Request access to or deletion of your data by emailing us. We will respond consistent with applicable law.
To exercise any of these rights, contact support@sillydinosoftware.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
9. Children's privacy
Whoseum is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at support@sillydinosoftware.com and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and information we collect may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this URL. Material changes may be highlighted in the App. Your continued use of Whoseum after an update means you accept the revised policy.
